What we offer
The School Eco-Gardens programme provides expert and information support to all schools, kindergartens, student residences, institutions and others in Slovenia that are setting up or caring for a school eco-garden of their own.
The programme offers a rich range of activities open to every member of the School Eco-Gardens Network.
The membership fee for an educational institution (primary school, kindergarten, secondary school, student residence or other institution) is 60 EUR.
For the membership fee the School Eco-Gardens programme offers:
- a place at our professional seminars for at least one participant (attendance counts towards career advancement);
- participation in other activities according to the annual programme (competitions, study visits, workshops and so on);
- member institutions can obtain the “School Eco-Garden” LABEL, our mascot, once they meet the criteria. The label is an excellent way to show their efforts to the public: to parents, the local community, prospective sponsors and others;
- use of the entire programme website (much of the content and material is available to members only);
- opportunities to share and exchange experience among members at seminars, through the website, in the media, at public events and elsewhere;
- public visibility and recognition for the member institution’s school eco-garden: we promote the programme in the media and through public events, and open the door to taking part in public and media events;
- on joining the programme you receive a printed copy of the handbook Jej lokalno, misli globalno! (Eat local, think global);
- when you book a school eco-garden workshop you receive a printed copy of the School Eco-Garden Guide;
- the option of being added to the interactive ŠEV map;
- a 10% discount on our workshops and lectures.
If the “value” of membership were expressed in money, we estimate that members of the School Eco-Gardens Network receive at least ten times what they pay in fees. The programme is therefore emphatically non-profit: its purpose is to deliver the richest possible range of activities to interested schools and kindergartens for a token contribution.
